Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Sunset Valley, Texas will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, the 7th of March 2017 at 6:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers, Municipal Building, 3205 Jones Road, Sunset Valley, Texas, at which time the following items will be discussed, to-wit:

1. Call to order of the City Council.

2. Pledge of Allegiance.

3. Citizen/Public Communication.

4. Staff and Committee reports on subject matters in written report issued on March 2, 2017.

1) City Administrator Report on subject matters in written report issued on March 2, 2017.
2) Police Department Report on subject matters in written report issued on March 2, 2017.
3) Public Works Dept. Report on subject matters in written report issued on March 2, 2017.
4) Quarterly Report from the Public Safety Committee on subject matters in written report issued on March 2, 2017.

All items listed below on this agenda are posted to allow for the City Council to take action, including items that do not contain the exact words “action or approval” in the main description. Agenda items are written in an affirmative style, but an item could be approved, denied, tabled or modified based on majority decision of the City Council. In addition, the City Council could choose not to formally act to approve or deny an item that is explicitly listed for action. Although not required, the City Council may use a formal action as a means for providing direction to staff for future consideration of an item at a subsequent meeting.

5. Council consideration of agenda items for approval on consent.

6. Approval of the minutes from the February 21, 2017 meeting.

7. Consider approval for the disposal of surplus equipment. (Mayor Cardona/Administration)

8. Consider approval of a Temporary Special Use Permit for PGA Dell Match Play for use of the Burger Center for Parking Shuttles from March 20, 2017 to March 26, 2017. (Mayor Cardona /Administration)

9. Consider approval of a Temporary Special Use Permit for a Citywide Garage Sale to be held on April 1, 2017. (Councilmember Powers/Administration)

10. Consider appointments to Committees. (Mayor Cardona/Administration)

11. Consider a recommendation from the Planning and Environmental Committee to allow Bee Keeping on City Property (Councilmember Jenkins/Public Works and Environmental Services)  Staff Presentation

12. Consider Endorsement of Best Practices by the Police Department to not make inquiries regarding Immigration Status (Councilmember Jenkins/Administration and Police Department).

13. Consider approval of a Community Survey. (Mayor Cardona/Administration)

14. Presentation on the Preliminary Site Plan for the City Facilities project at 3205 Jones Road. (Mayor Cardona/Public Works and Environmental Services)


15. WATER PLANNING WORKSHOP – 2nd in a series of workshops to be held during City Council meetings on Water Planning issues sponsored by the Public Works Committee. Presentation (slides only)


Council will announce that it will go into Executive Session, if necessary, to deliberate any matter listed on this agenda for which an exception to open meetings requirements permit such closed deliberation, including but not limited to consultation with the City’s attorneys pursuant to Tex. Gov't Code § 551.071 and deliberation regarding real property pursuant to Tex. Gov’t Code § 551.072 as announced at the time of the closed session.

EX-1: Consult with the City's attorneys regarding claims asserted in Case No. D1-GN-15-000423 alleging Land Development Code violations at 3505 Country White Lane and 6218 Brodie Lane.

EX-2: Consult with the City’s attorneys regarding claims asserted in Case No. D-1-GN-15-000515 filed by the Austin Curling Center.

EX-3: Discuss acquisition of Real Property

EX-4: Discuss claims and remedies available to the city in the event of withdrawal of the accepted bid for the sale of property at 3617 Country White Lane.

16. Take appropriate action, if any, regarding any items discussed in Executive Session.
