Overview

The Environmental Committee makes recommendations regarding environmental programs and issues including rules and management of the city's green spaces and conservation lands. This includes vegetation, restoration, wildlife, trails and recommendations to Council for greenspace acquisitions to expand and refine the trail links and neighborhood buffers. The Committee also works on water quality, public health, and drainage issues. The Committee reviews planning activities related to City-owned properties and development. The Committee writes and reviews various master plan documents and ordinances used for development. The

Environmental Committee works with other committees to develop programs beneficial to the City.

Purpose Statement

The Environmental Committee makes recommendations to the City Council on
environmental issues and programs, environmental-related planning, and the
development and management of the City’s public parks, greenspaces, and
conservation lands. This includes vegetation restoration, wildlife, trails, and other
environmental concerns, as well as recommendations for greenspace acquisitions.

Meetings

The Environmental Committee currently meets on the first Thursday evening of every month.
