Sunset Valley Community Mural a collaborative event with artist Vickie McMillan-Hayes in 2023. 

As you drive along Brodie Lane in Sunset Valley, or pass through Westgate and Jones Road, you might notice something new and vibrant—art is springing to life on electrical boxes throughout the area, including one in front of the Police Department. This creative transformation is the work of Avery Houser, a talented mural artist bringing color and charm to our community.

This stunning wooden sculpture, carved with precision and passion, is the work of Della Meredith, also known as The Chainsaw Chick. Della transforms ordinary pieces of wood into extraordinary masterpieces, ranging from lifelike sculptures of figures like J.J. Watt to whimsical Minions, functional furniture, and serene beach scenes.

This beautiful sculpture exemplifies her ability to bring nature and art together in perfect harmony, adding a unique touch to the community.

Art Commission x SFC Mural by Efren Rebugio

In partnership with the Sunset Valley Arts Commission and Sustainable Food Center

This bright, whimsical mural by local artist Efren Rebugio brings a burst of color and joy to the Sunset Valley Farmers' Market space. Completed in spring 2025, the mural reflects Sunset Valley’s vibrant commitment to sustainability, community, and the beauty of the Hill Country.

Rebugio's signature style—featuring fantastical botanicals and vivid colors—is on full display. The mural incorporates elements inspired by native Texas wildflowers and seasonal produce, celebrating both the natural environment and the market’s local food mission.

Located near the SFC weekly market along Hwy 290, this collaborative piece marks the first public art installation at the market site. It serves as a lively photo spot for visitors and a welcoming gateway into the community spirit of Sunset Valley.
